I met Khadidiatou Nakoulima during our meeting with the US Ambassador in Senegal for the preparation of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Naïrobi (Kenya). I was so impressed by the motivation of that woman and surprised also by the fact she chose to launch a medical network for women and children in Senegal instead of pursuing an engeneering career. Yes Khady is graduate from Ecole des Mines in Paris. Like me, you will be little bit surprised but you will understand more why she chose this particular career path.
Khady’s Father is a renowned pediatrician in Senegal. So we can clearly understand that she took the « medical virus « . »Some women had lost confidence in the Senegalese medical system, because of a lack of attention or resources…I would like to provide a cheap with best quality » She said. She discovered the network of maternity when she settled in India, precisely in Hyderabad. So, she came back in Senegal with the idea of replicating this model in Senegal. After months of work, NEST project materialized in 2011 with the opening of a first medical platform, followed by the opening of a maternity ward in 2013. The objective is to ensure a complete monitoring of the women and young children, during and after pregnancy.
